Countdown Begins/Girls

Oh man Im starting to freak out!! There are only 18 more days till graduation and only 9 more school days left!! This past weekend I mailed out all my announcements (I hope I did not forget anyone) and will be mailing my grad party invites this week. Im beyond excited and can't believe it's almost here! This coming weekend will be full of projects and papers that need to be done before May 4th!! I think I can handle it but I have asked John not ask me any other important life questions or make any decisions from now until May 8th because I can't possibly think of other things right now!! We can only discuss superficial things like the return of Real Housewives of New Jersey and my new obsession HBO's Girls. Girls is a bout 4 twenty somethings trying to survive in NewYork..I know you're thinking wait there was already a show similar to this (Sex and the City) but this show is better!! These girls quirky lives are pretty amusing and often times painfully cringing to watch!! By the way who knew Brian Williams had a such a pretty daughter that could act (she plays Marnie)..well done Mr. Williams..well done!! Ok obviously I have wondered into random thoughts but I hope you will check out Girls!

Dirty Dog

So you all knew this was coming because you know I can't resist talking about my dog child, Luxie!! Lux frequents the beauty shop, Dirty Dog, often. So often that the last time I was picking her up they asked me if I wanted to have a standing appointment for her! She now goes every 5 weeks to get beautified!!! Lux really does not like going to the groomer...I always feel so bad when I drop her off. I tell her we are going for ride and she gets so excited and then we pull up to Dirty Dog and she just starts shaking and gives me mean looks..she often refuses to even walk into the building..I usually have to drag her in or carry her! However, Dirty Dog says that she is one of the best dogs that comes in there because she doesn't squirm around during the grooming session. They say she simply gives them the stink eye the whole time. I love Dirty Dog not only because they are good to her but now they have started sending pictures of Luxie when she gets groomed. The pictures that they send are so funny. It looks like they have set up a background and now its a doggie modeling shoot!! They send an email titled: Luxie's day at the Spa and say "We thought you might like to see how your pup spends their time while hanging out at Dirty Dog!" Ha I think this is so funny and it cracks me up that they do this! I have included Luxie's photos from the past few times she has been to Dirty Dog! I hope you all get a good laugh out of it!!

My Teenage Girl Style Crush on Matt Bomer

Im a little embarrassed for sharing this blog but why not!!!!! I really love my lover and no offense John but I have to publicly say that Matt Bomer (who I refer to as Neal Caffrey, his character on White Collar) is one of the best-looking pieces of man candy I have seen in a long time. I have thought this since I first saw him on Chuck a few years ago and then on White Collar but now my crush has escalated once I heard him sing on Glee last week. I haven't had this kind of crush on a boy since I was 14 years old and was plastering pictures of Prince William all over my walls....I think I am too old to be plastering magazine pictures of Matt Bomer all over my bedroom plus Im sure John would not agree with the decor!!  Besides his perfect jaw line, piercing clear blue eyes, and the fact that he is a homegrown Texan I must say the man can sing! Im obsessed with people who can sing and Neal Caffrey can sing (see his rendition of "Somebody that I used to Know" below). I was also happy to find out recently that Matt Bomer is gay.  I was happy for him of course that he can be openly gay man in our society but I was mainly happy because this now means that I do not have to break up with John and try to stalker-like pursue him!! So enjoy his singing and good looking face below!!

Missing

Lately, I have been thinking about stuff I have been missing, from lost loved ones to short lived tv series. I thought I would share some things that I have been missing lately!

I would like to start with loved ones that have been lost..My grandfather (Pempo) he died when I was 17.  The older I get the more I appreciate family and spending time with them. I wish I would have had more time to spend with my Pempo and got to know him better because he was such a good man. I also miss my aunt Glo and uncle Ruben that I lost a few years ago. They are greatly missed and 2 of the kindest people I have ever met in my life. Lastly, I can't leave out Grammie Billie..she was John's grandma..over the past 7 years of John and I's relationship I have come to know and love all his family members well. Grammie was a very special woman and always very sweet to me..she is greatly missed!!

Next, whatever happen to one of the first reality tv shows, Temptation island? One of my guilty pleasures in high school..this show put reality TV on the map for me! Several couples living together on an island just trying to cheat on each other made for some serious drama! Every Thursday night my friends and I would gather at someones house and watch this show all together...why were are parents allowing us watch this crap??? I lived weekly for finding out who would explode on who!!!

Also, whatever happen to NBC's Kath and Kim? This was a spinoff from the Australia version which is equally funny, that starred Molly Shannon and Selma Blair! This hot mess of show only made it 2 seasons and I have no idea why...this show was hilarious. Why did NBC cancel this for something like the show Are you there Chelsea?????

I have also been missing my first car!! I got my first pair of wheels when I was 15 (I often took it out without a license and without permission)..it was a 1995 red jeep grand cherokee..I loved this car...jeeps and 4 runners were the popular cars when I was high school and I thought I was high rolling in this car! I would still probably be driving this car if my brother didn't wrap it around a telephone poll one night..actually I probably would not still be driving this because I have since moved on to my luxury sedan but I still miss this car!!

Easter Break

One awesome benefit of going to a catholic school is that I get a nice little 5 day weekend for Easter Break! We headed to Midland to spend time with family, visit baby Drew and pick up Luxie!! We celebrated John's 55th birthday...it was so wonderful to spend this birthday with him..I will always treasure the memories we make with our families! I also had a small accident over Easter break..I'm pretty sure I broke my toe! One of my family member's (mom) accidentally dropped a marble paper towel holder on my foot!! I'm def going to lose the nail!! Im glad that my uncle Rod was there to give me a pep talk...he said i have mood toe now!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and I'm fortunate to have spent lots of time with family and friends and of course we are happy to have Lux back after a month long stay at her grandparents house!

Weekend Highlights

This weekend was mostly filled with homework...it seems that I have a million things due all before the Easter Break, which begins on Thursday!! However, I did find some time to hang out with my niece, Ellie and meet the Fancher's for brunch on Sunday! 

We spent saturday evening at Anthony and Holly's..it's always funny when we hang out with Ellie..she was super grumpy when we got there but as soon as John helped her walk around she perked up...she will more than likely be walking on her own in a matter of weeks. Im really impressed by her musical talents though...she loves the piano just like her aunt Mo!!! She basically slammed down on some keys, crawled all over the keyboard and slobbered all over the place...it was quite entertaining!!!

I have never been to Green Pastures until this past weekend...It's basically an old ass Victorian House that was turned into a restaurant...Interesting fact: they were the 2nd place to get their TABC license in Austin(so it's been around for some decades)...they have a pretty serious brunch on Sundays! It's like a Las Vegas buffet..they have everything...oh they also have a bunch of peacocks on the grounds...I chased a couple but they ran off pretty quickly and gave me the stink eye!!!
